The short version

The Meridian Report collects as little data as possible. We run no advertising and no tracking cookies. We measure aggregate, anonymous traffic statistics, how many readers a report receives, from which countries, and via which referring sites, and we do not build individual profiles of our readers.

What we collect

Aggregate analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first measurement service that does not use cookies, does not fingerprint devices, and does not cross-track visitors between sites. It records anonymous, aggregated metrics such as page views, visits, referrers, countries and browser families. No personal information is collected by us through this service, and no individual reader can be identified from it.

Server logs. Like essentially all websites, our hosting infrastructure (Cloudflare) processes standard technical request data, IP addresses, request times, user-agent strings, for security, abuse prevention and site operation. This data is governed by Cloudflare’s own privacy policy and is not used by The Meridian Report for profiling or marketing.

Email you send us. If you contact the newsroom at [email protected], we receive your email address and the contents of your message. We use it only to respond to you, to verify corrections, or to follow up on tips you have asked us to pursue. We do not add you to any mailing list, and we do not share your address with third parties.

What we do not do

Your choices and rights

Because we do not use cookies or collect personal data for profiling, there is nothing for you to opt out of. You may additionally block or delete cookies site-wide in your browser settings without affecting anything on this site. If you are located in the UK, the EU or another jurisdiction with statutory data-rights regimes and you believe we hold personal data about you (for example, an email you sent us), you may write to [email protected] to request access, correction or deletion. We respond to reasonable requests promptly.

Third-party links

Our articles link to primary sources and other publications. Once you follow a link, the destination site’s own privacy policy applies. We link only to sources we consider reputable, and we are not responsible for their practices.

Changes to this policy

If our data practices change, for instance, if advertising is introduced, we will update this page and change the date above before the change takes effect.
